Welcome

Hello and welcome to the official website of PISTIS Foundation.

We are a registered not-for-profit Organisation established to be a model provider of empowerment opportunities for the economically challenged in our target communities. We drive our objectives through Education, Health and Shelter intervention programmes, as Key Focus Areas.

About us

History & Activities

The Foundation was registered in 2014 as an Incorporated Trustee with the Corporate Affairs Commission Nigeria. Operationally, activities began in February of 2018 with the appointment of its pioneer General Manager – Mr. Leonard F. Thomas.

Within the first two months of operations, the Foundation kicked-off WINGS Academy (under its education programme) – a subsidized talent-mining school – for children between ages 8 to 12. The academy ran for 12 Saturdays as a pilot, playing host to about 70 children, broken into 4 classes – Programming, Robotics, Music and Creative Writing. The session culminated in a ‘show n tell’ event, where parents watched their children showcase what they had learnt during the term. As at date, the Academy has successfully ran 3 sessions, and is positioning to focus more on under-served children in the future.

More under its education programme, the Foundation has successfully intervened in the lives of 42 under-served children under its Scholarship programme, within the last 2 years. Thirty (30) of these children, also known as PF Scholars (in about 12 of our partner primary and secondary schools) are beneficiaries of the foundation’s full provisional scholarship programme, while the rest have either been annual or one-off beneficiaries. Each year, the PF Scholarship drive begins in May, and seeks to intervene in the lives of children, from economically challenged families/ communities. The Scholarship goal over the course of 5-years is to successfully intervene in the lives of about 250 of these children.

Under Health, PISTIS Foundation launched one of its flagship programme known as UBOMI, in March 2019. UBOMI is an annual free mega medical and surgical outreach that caters to between 3500 and 5000 beneficiaries, within a one-week period in a target community. To achieve this feat, PF strategically collaborates with Hospitals, non-profit organizations, corporate bodies, multinationals, SMEs, Government agencies, et al., with shared ideologies to impact the lives of target beneficiaries.

The Outreach plays host to at least, 100 registered ‘volunteer’ healthcare professionals and about 150 volunteers, rendering free medical and surgical services to individuals with eye and dental cases, gynecologic services, general medicine, obstetrics, general surgery et al.

To effectively sustain this initiative, the foundation has concluded plans to set up a healthcare center/ hospital that will serve as a base for the free medical outreach, and continue to provide access to quality healthcare to low-income and under-served families within the West-African sub-region.

The Foundation’s Shelter programme is also not left out as it commenced in December of 2018, with a site visit to Destiny Trust Foundation (DTF), a Shelter for homeless children in the suburb area of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. PF then supported DTF through the payment of one-year school fees for seven (7) children, who were beneficiaries in its shelter, renovation of its shelter facility, purchasing of sleeping bunks, petrol powered generator, as well as renewal of its annual rent. DTF till date remains a partner with PF under its KOTS programme.

PF has however proceeded to establish its shelter for street children, by leasing a property in the Greater Lekki axis of Lagos, under its Kids Off The Streets (KOTS) program. KOTS is designed to re-habilitate homeless kids, and successfully reintegrate them back into society. Each child must undergo a ‘sponsored’ formal basic education programme, as well as a specially designed “talent development pipeline/ programme to attain completion. The KOTS vision was borne out of the growing situation of homeless children within PFs communities in Lagos Nigeria and is driven through strategic collaboration with established individuals and institutions with shared ideologies, willing to invest in a better Nigeria and Africa.

If you’d like to support any of our programmes/ causes, or partner with us, please send us an email with the subject “PARTNER WITH PF” to partnerships@pistisfoundation.org. Thank you!
